Why We Love It:
A major phone provider that provides services to more than 120 million subscribers, making it the second most popular network in the country, Verizon (previous known as Verizon Wireless) advertises itself on the speed of its network and its reliability, investing a great deal in its infrastructure and general services. This has paid off, as Verizon is known as the fastest and most reliable wireless network in most regions of the United States.
Verizon is also perhaps the carrier most dedicated to bringing 5G to the people, not only making it available to many across the country in a short period of time but using 5G technologies that are faster and more reliable than those used by competitors. Even outside of 5G access, Verizon provides fantastic speeds to users across a wide network, and is committed to improving those services.
As evidenced in many of their plans, Verizon wants people to use that data to do more with their phones, providing free subscriptions to many streaming and entertainment services as part of their premium plans, often at a significant discount when all expenses are factored in.
Verizon was founded in 2000 as a joint effort from Bell Atlantic and Vodafone (a British multinational telecommunications company), though in 2004 Verizon bought Vodafone’s stake in the company. and the CEO is currently Hans Vestberg. The company’s headquarters is located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey and they recently split into two divisions (Verizon Consumer and Verizon Business), though this will make little difference to the average consumer. We can expect them to continue to grow and innovate, offering benefits and more advanced plans to potential customers such as yourself.
